Over 370 meters high, this is the highest point of the municipality of Mértola. It has dense vegetation, typically Mediterranean, composed of shrubby plants such as mastic trees (Pistacia lentiscus), gum rockroses (Cistus ladanifer), rockroses (Cistus monspeliensis), evergreen dwarf shrubs (Ulex minor Roth), poisonous evergreen shrubs (Daphne gnidium L.), myrtles (Myrtus communis) and branched asphodel (Asphodelus ramosus), and by trees such as olive trees (Olea europaea) and holm oaks (Quercus rotundifolia). From the summit you can enjoy a fantastic view that is magnificent. It is suitable for paragliding, as well as for the observation of birds of prey such as the Black Vulture (Aegypius monachus), the Iberian Imperial Eagle (Aquila adalberti) and the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos).
